City of Calgary Youth Hiring Fair takes place on March 26, 2026 from 1:30-6:00 pm at the Big Four Building, Stampede Park, connecting job seekers aged 15-24 with 80+ employers.

 Job Opportunity: The Scenic Acres Community Association and the Bowness Seniors Association are both looking for garden coordinators for work to start in May. If you are interested in gardens, nature and sustainability, please look at the job descriptions in your CBE email. Further labor and ICT work experience opportunities will be opening in the near future!

 YWITT (Young Women in Trade & Technology) program is putting on a hands-on event with Fix Network on March 27, 2026. Are you wanting to try auto body work and paint a fender from scratch? Spots are first come, first served and very limited—only 12 spots available. Please note that a CAREERS application must be submitted in order to participate.

 Hiring Fairs – if you are looking for work experience in the auto service industry, have a drivers license and morning or afternoon availability, please submit a CAREERS application. Scan the QR codes on the posters outside Student Services and the Work Experience office or read your CBE email.

Absences – just a reminder you can email us – 24 hours a day – with student absences, late arrivals and early departures. Bowness@cbe.ab.ca  Please include the student’s first and last name, and the reason.  Also remind your students that if they arrive late, or leave early, they need to sign in or out at the office in order to maintain an accurate record of their attendance. Any changes to attendance needs to be addressed with the teacher, who will advise the office.
