Bowness High School Mechanics students engaged in a cross curricular project to design, repair, and maintain sledges for AMP's local sledge hockey program. This initiative allowed students to connect classroom learning to a real-world community need, providing essential supports for athletes with mobility and accessibility requirements. Students not only honed technical skills in mechanics, problem solving and teamwork, but also developed professional skills and a sense of civic pride and responsibility. This experience illustrates how career and technology programming bridges classroom learning with meaningful community impact, preparing students for future careers while making a difference in their city.
